Posted by admin | August 30th, 2010 in Hypothyroidism | No Comments »

There are actually four ways of establishing a convincing diagnosis of thyroid hormone deficiency in a human body. Accuracy of the diagnosis influences the treatment on the hormone deficiency since the symptoms are considered to have some common similarities with the those of other health condition. Accordingly, symptoms cannot be used as a mere tool of diagnosis.

In addition to symptoms of hypothyroidism, other diagnostic tools that may be used to base the diagnosis include medical and family history. Medical history that may point out to decreased production of thyroid hormone include thyroid surgery and the use of medicines like lithium, interferon alpha, and some other thyroid-curing medicines. A history of thyroid in the family may put an individual in higher risk of developing hypothyroidism. In addition, physical examination and blood test will unveil some changes including welling, slower reflexes, and slower heart rate.

Essentially, there is no single treatment for hypothyroidism. Some also claim that hypothyroidism cannot be treated. But, the condition can be controlled with proper treatment. Thyroxin (T4) replacement is the most commonly used treatment. By replacing the amount of hormone depleted in the patients’ body, sufficient amount of thyroid hormone can be expected; and normal metabolism will ensue. However, T4 replacement must be done after a comprehensive testing for devising the appropriate regimen. Inappropriate treatment may result in side effects and complications like restlessness, nervousness, shakiness, and skipping heart.

The HCG Diet Plan Trains Your Body To Burn Stored Fat First

Posted by admin | August 17th, 2010 in Diet and Nutritions | No Comments »

HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, is a glycoprotein hormone naturally produced in the placenta of women during pregnancy. It triggers hormonal changes in women during pregnancy that stimulate embryo development through metabolic redirection.

In a mimicking way these changes when applied to non-pregnant women and normal males has a similar internal effect but manifests itself outwardly a bit differently. It makes the body metabolize stored fat for energy and nutrition as opposed to burning only the new fat and protein eaten as daily food. By taking HCG Diet Drops, a synthetic form of the naturally occurring hormone, you can harness this benefit for your own weight control program.

The HCG Diet Drops combine the hormone in synthetic form along with a number of other certified supplements that help to reduce the craving for food so that you can maintain a low calorie diet and still have the energy and provide that “full feeling” that will help you get away from the dinner table with feeling like you have starved yourself.

Its this low level of caloric intake that speeds up the weight loss and helps to stabilize your hypothalamus so that when the HCG session is complete you will be able to retain this metabolic rate on your own and keep your body in the practice of burning stored fat first.

Food energy on diet

Posted by iqko | August 15th, 2010 in Diet and Nutritions | No Comments »

The energy is most available carbohydrates. But it has been shown that children and adults who live almost exclusively from a diet rich in carbohydrates can not reach their potential and develop a non-optimal health.

ideal diet

An ideal diet is one that offers a good balance between proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. In general, this means that there should be a mixed diet of plant products (to provide calories) with animal products (to provide enough nitrogen via protein).

Many ethnic groups adopt this type of diet in the world through a diet that includes meat, fruit and vegetables. Other ethnic groups, who do not eat meat, could get their products of animal origin through the milk, eggs or cheese. A purely vegetarian diet is not impossible, but involves the consumption of large quantities of food and at frequent intervals.

Pregnant women and nursing mothers require power released, contains protein, calcium, iron and vitamins, in addition to normal supplies in fat and carbohydrates. During the last half of pregnancy, it is recommended to the mother to adopt a diet providing about 2500 calories per day and 3000 calories per day while breastfeeding her baby.

For infants, the best food is human milk, but if for some reason the mother can breastfeed her child, then the basis for infant feeding is usually cow’s milk (in countries where it is available) diluted with water and sugar and cream added. Infants also need iron and vitamin C to supplement a milk diet.

The growing children need a good amount of animal protein, they can look in the milk, meat and eggs. They also require a large amount of fat from milk and carbohydrates in the form of fruits and vegetables, sugar, honey and foods containing starch (like bread, potatoes, rice and other cereals). When vitamin A is limited, as during the winter when fruits and vegetables are rare, children need extra vitamins and especially vitamin C in their diet.

Things about diet

Posted by iqko | August 12th, 2010 in Diet and Nutritions | No Comments »

The energy value of food is expressed in terms of the amount of heat they produce combustion. In scientific work in general, heat is measured in calories, one calorie is the amount of heat required to raise one gram of water one degree Celsius. However, considering the energy value of foods, it is more common to operate a 1000 times greater, the “large calorie” or “kilogram calorie” (commonly known as Cal or kcal / kg, although in daily use Everyone uses the word “calorie” to mean the same thing).

wheat-bread_rs

The word means kCal a “large calorie”. When one gram of carbohydrate is burned it produces 4.1 kcal. This is the same for a gram of protein. While a gram of fat (lipid) produces 9.3 kcal.

Thus, a diet providing 50 grams protein, 50 grams of fat and 500 grams of carbohydrates in the body produce approximately 2650 kcal.

Water, minerals and indigestible materials have no value for body heat and the estimation of the caloric value of food must take this into consideration.

The body’s energy needs vary depending on the amount of work involved and depending on the heat lost by the body. A man lying at rest in a warm room needs about 1700 calories a day and a woman at absolute rest of 1450 calories per day. This is known as the basal metabolic rate. Calculate how many calories you need daily and your BMR with our calculator.

On the other hand, a man engaged in active work, especially in a cold climate will need about 4500 calories a day (or more), and a woman of 3000 calories per day.

In general, women need fewer calories than men because their weight and size means are lower than those of men. They are also often less arduous than men and have a smaller heat loss through the body surface.
